About Uber

Uber is an app on your smartphone to call a driver to pick you up. Using the app on your phone, you’ll tell a driver where to pick you up, and where you’re headed — and they’ll come and get you. Through Ride Guarantee, you’ll receive a discounted ride to or from work or training. You’ll be charged $0-$5 depending on your employer or community organization.

Using Your Uber Rides

Once you’re signed up, your Uber account will automatically be loaded with your discounted rides, to be used commuting to and from your workplace or training location. The remaining costs of rides will be subsidized by Commuters Trust.

The discounts will be automatically applied on rides to and from your workplace or training location at any time, day or night.

You can check the status of your enrollment in the program and how many rides you have remaining per month by navigating to the Promotions tab in the “Wallet” section at the top-left corner of the app.

The Fine Print

Only rides to and from your workplace or training location qualify.

If an individual ride exceeds a total of $40 the excess will be charged to your payment account. (The average ride costs $10-12, so it’s unlikely you’ll be charged any additional cost.)

Rides are subject to driver availability.

Discounted rides for SBCSC, Boys and Girls Club, and University of Notre Dame participants will refill on the first day of each month (they will not carry over from one month to the next).

Visit Uber’s website for information about their service.
